Margarethe Hannsmann, Biography

Born: 1921 in Heidenheim, died: to 28. March 2007 in Stuttgart

Margarethe Hannsmann, daughter of a teacher had training as an actress. After the death of its first man, Heinrich Hannsmann, she worked it among other things at the broadcast. Starting from 1957 first publications took place in lyric poetry and novels, so among other things

She published altogether 23 volumes with Claasen, Klett Cotta and in the Eremitenpresse. In addition it wrote radio plays and reports on a journey. 

Starting from 1967 she was life companion of HAP Grieshaber. After his death 1981 she lived first in Greece, last in Stuttgart.

Margarete Hannsmann engaged for herself in the peace and environmental movement. She was active in the federation of German writers and member of the PEN club, starting from 1984 in the PEN presidency.
