The
historic paintings of impressionism and expressionism have fascinated and
attracted Gisèle Chardin for many years of self-taught studies. She toured
all of Europe and enlarged her knowledge in painting, amongst other things,
and noticed the influences in the transition from impressionism to
expressionism. Her work shows the tendency towards a skilful
colour-combination and technical matureness. In answer to a reviewer’s
question asking the motives and reasons for her painting, the artist answered
"my personal mind is expressed in my pictures and I always hope that the
viewer of my pictures understand this".
She
has sold many of her works in numerous exhibitions in Rome, Paris, Geneva,
Brussels and Amsterdam.
