born: 1935 in Bleiburg/Kärnten/Austria died: 01.02.1997 in ViennaKiki Kogelnik is a Austrian Pop Art artist. She studied 1954 at the university for art in Vienna, graphics with professor Schwarz, sculpture with professor Knesl. Of 1955-1958 study at the academy of the forming arts in Vienna with professor Gütersloh and Böckl
After she studied in Vienna she leaves 1961 to New York. From the abstract expressionism she chanage to the Pop Art. There she learns prominent artists of the Pop Art, Roy Lichtensteine and Andy Warhol. Their art is affected therefore of an environment, which differs from the European strongly.
Thus the American Pop Art affected her work for example very many more intensively, than on other Austrian artists.
She experiments with materials such as ceramic(s), wood, email etc.

Kiki oscillates zw. to New York, Vienna and Bleiburg back and forth;
Kiki lives and works, up to its death 1997, in Vienna.
